Ingram Škoda Ayr is proud to support drivers across Ayr and Ayrshire with the latest government-backed electric vehicle offers.
Thanks to the Government’s new Electric Car Grant scheme, announced on 15 July 2025, owning a new electric Škoda has become more affordable than ever.
To qualify for the grant, electric vehicle models must meet criteria including sustainability and pricing. Škoda is currently working with UK authorities to confirm eligibility of its electric car range.
While final eligibility is confirmed, Škoda UK is offering a Grant Guarantee of £1,500‡ for Retail customers placing an order between 1st August and 31st August 2025 for the following models:
This guarantee ensures that you will receive either:
To qualify for this offer, your vehicle must be delivered after 1st September 2025.
Driving a low-emission vehicle can dramatically reduce the amount of Vehicle Excise Duty (VED), commonly known as the road tax, you pay. Zero-emission vehicles will be charged at the lowest rate of £10 for the first year. If your home has off-street parking, a wall-box can charge your electric vehicle faster than a standard 3-pin domestic plug. The Government offers a grant that supports the cost of the charger. The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme supports up to 75% of the cost, capped at £350 including VAT, off the installation price. The electric vehicle home charge scheme grant is now only available to rental or leasehold properties.
This grant provides electric vehicle (EV) drivers with support towards the costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints at residential properties if they are also installing a cross-pavement charging solution. An electric vehicle chargepoint grant can help towards the cost of installing an electric vehicle chargepoint socket at your property. You can get 75% off the cost to buy and install a socket, up to a maximum of £350.
If you want to encourage your employees to make the switch to electric, the Government will support £350 of the installation cost for every charge point you install (maximum of 40 chargepoints). What’s more, electric drivers won’t incur any Benefit in Kind charges for electricity used at work.
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based scheme that gives businesses financial support towards installing chargers on their premises.

Because Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) is calculated based on your car’s emissions, driving electric can help you save.
The Government’s tax rules state that where an employer provides charging stations for their employees, no taxable benefit will arise.
There are local councils up and down the country that offer incentives for electric vehicle owners. For example many offer reduced-cost Residents’ Parking Permits, or even Green Vehicle Permits that allow free parking at shopping centres and train stations, access to bus lanes, and free use of charging stations. Offers vary depending on the council, so contact your local council authority to find out more.
