The new Volkswagen T-Roc and the all-new Tiguan are both available now at Ingram Volkswagen in Ayr. One is a compact SUV with a big personality. The other is the family SUV that does everything. Here is how they compare, what they cost from, and how to drive both for 24 hours before you decide.
Sporty, flexible and comfortable. The new T-Roc keeps the compact footprint that made it one of Britain's favourite small SUVs, and adds a full-width LED light signature, an optional illuminated Volkswagen badge, a floating 12.9-inch touchscreen and mild-hybrid petrol power.
Striking SUV design, a premium cabin with ErgoActive massage seats and the latest IQ.DRIVE assistance. Choose petrol, diesel or the eHybrid plug-in with up to 75 miles of electric range, and a 652-litre boot behind a sliding rear bench.
Both are Volkswagen SUVs with the same build quality and the same aftercare from Ingram. The difference is scale, powertrain choice and how much you carry.

you want a stylish SUV that is easy to park in Ayr town centre, mostly carry two or three people, and want the lowest entry price in the range.
you tow, carry a full family and their kit, do long motorway runs, or want to cover the daily commute on electric with the eHybrid.
A showroom lap tells you very little. A 24-hour test drive tells you whether the boot takes the buggy, whether it fits on the drive, and what it is like on the road you actually use. Book the T-Roc one day and the Tiguan the next, and decide with the keys in your hand.
The T-Roc is Volkswagen's compact SUV and the Tiguan is the larger mid-size family SUV. The Tiguan has a bigger boot (652 litres against 475), more powertrain choice including a plug-in hybrid, and a higher starting price. The T-Roc is easier to park and cheaper to buy and run. Both are built to the same Volkswagen standard and serviced at Ingram Volkswagen Ayr.
Yes. Both the new T-Roc and the Tiguan are available on the Motability Scheme through Ingram Volkswagen Ayr. Advance payments vary by trim and engine; the current figures are on our T-Roc Motability and Tiguan Motability pages, and our Motability specialists can walk you through the application.
Yes. The Tiguan eHybrid is a plug-in hybrid with up to 75 miles of electric-only range on the WLTP combined cycle and supports DC rapid charging. The new T-Roc is offered with mild-hybrid eTSI petrol engines, which assist the petrol engine but do not plug in.
Book through the model page or call 01292 269 522. We will prepare the car, run through the controls, and you take it away for 24 hours to use on your normal journeys. You can book both models on consecutive days if you are choosing between them. A valid full UK driving licence is required and the usual terms apply.
We hold new T-Roc and Tiguan models in stock for quick delivery alongside factory orders in any colour and trim. Our New Cars In Stock page is updated as vehicles arrive, and our Approved Used section lists previous-generation examples of both.
