Panel Beater – Ingram Motoring Group Accident Repair Centre, Ayr

Location: Ingram Motoring Group, 9 Whitfield Drive, Ayr, KA8 9RX

Salary: From £41,600 per year - OTE £50,000+ (including overtime and bonus)

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm (flexible working hours considered)

Ingram Motoring Group is a well-established, family owned and operated business that has proudly served new and returning customers across Ayrshire and beyond for over 50 years. We are now looking for a skilled Panel Beater to join our highly experienced team at our leading Volkswagen Group Accident Repair Centre in Ayr.

About the Role

As a Panel Beater at Ingram Motoring Group Accident Repair Centre, you will work on a variety of vehicles, primarily from the Volkswagen Group brands, completing high-quality repairs to manufacturer standards.

You will be responsible for:

  • Performing high-quality repair and replacement of panels and bodywork
  • Stripping and fitting panels and body components
  • Replacing damaged panels and body sections
  • Carrying out welding and bonding of vehicle structures
  • Following manufacturer literature and modification bulletins for chassis and panel repairs
  • Using jigs, fixtures, welding and other equipment in accordance with safety requirements
  • Repairing and replacing body components to pre-accident condition and VWG standards
  • Handling all vehicles with care and attention to maintain excellent customer satisfaction
  • Keeping tools, equipment and work areas clean, safe and well organised
  • Complying with all housekeeping, Health & Safety regulations and company policies

You will be given strong times on job cards and generous bonus hours, providing high earning potential for the right candidate. This position is aimed at skilled Panel Beaters, however consideration will be given where all criteria are not fully met.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Panel Beater in a Bodyshop or Accident Repair environment (desirable)
  • A demonstrable working knowledge of vehicle panel repairs
  • The ability to carry out a full range of body repairs on a variety of vehicle makes, including jig work
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety
  • The ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision once trained
  • A positive, flexible attitude and a strong team ethos
