Fancy an electric SUV that's easy to park, easy to charge and – now – easy on the eye? Škoda has just pulled the covers off the new Epiq Sportline, and it's the one we think a lot of Ayrshire drivers have been waiting for. Black alloys, a glowing front grille, sports seats and the full tech kit all come as standard. Here's everything you need to know.
The Epiq is Škoda's smallest and most affordable fully electric SUV, and it's already proving popular with our customers in Ayr. The new Sportline sits at the top of the range and is, in Škoda's own words, the best-equipped Epiq you can buy. Think of it as the Epiq with the good stuff ticked for you.

Epiq Sportline at a glance
You'll spot a Sportline from across the car park. Škoda has swapped the usual contrast trim for glossy black – the lettering, the roof rails and the mirror caps all get the treatment – and the bumpers are now body-coloured, which gives the car a lower, more planted look.
Want to go darker still? The Sportline is the only Epiq you can order with a blacked-out roof, and it rolls on 19-inch black alloys as standard, with a 20-inch design on the options list. Neither wheel is available on any other Epiq, so your car will look like nothing else on the road.

This is the first Epiq with Škoda's illuminated Light Band – a slim strip of light across the front grille that joins the T-shaped LED Matrix headlights for a signature you'll recognise at night. Matrix lighting means you can leave full beam on and the car automatically shades other drivers out of the glare. LED tail-lights finish the set, and all of it is standard.

Slide into the Sportline and it's all black – headlining included – with a pair of electrically adjustable sports seats trimmed in Suedia, Škoda's soft suede-effect fabric. They hug you a little more through the bends without being hard work on the school run. Suedia also covers the armrest, door inserts and dashboard, so the cabin feels a step up from the standard car.
The three-spoke sports steering wheel is heated (a Scottish winter essential) and carries paddles behind it. Instead of changing gear, they let you dial up or down how strongly the car slows and recovers energy when you lift off – handy in town, and it saves the brakes. Stainless-steel pedals, ambient lighting, lit door sills and 15 W wireless phone charging round things off.

With most cars, the spec sheet is where the extras start adding up. Not here. The Sportline bundles in the three packs Škoda normally charges for on the Selection trim:
Convenience Pack
Heated front seats and steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming mirror and rear privacy glass.
Tech Pack
Keyless entry that locks itself, a Digital Key on your phone, rear camera, front parking sensors and wireless charging.
Light & View Pack
LED Matrix headlights, top-spec LED tail-lights and the illuminated Light Band grille.
If you want more, two optional packs are on offer. The Travel Pack adds Travel Assist 3.0 (which can follow traffic and stop at red lights), navigation and three years of Škoda Connect Premium. The Premium Pack brings a 360° camera, a 10-speaker Canton sound system, remote and trained parking, and a "frunk" under the bonnet so the charging cable stays out of the boot.

There are two Sportlines to choose from, and the difference is simple: how far you want to go between charges, and how quickly you want to get there.
Epiq 40 Sportline
The everyday choice
Epiq 55 Sportline
The long-distance choice
Both top out at 99 mph and come with regenerative braking, a coasting mode and Škoda's ECO assistant, which gives you gentle hints on the dashboard to help squeeze a few extra miles from every charge. For context, Ayr to Glasgow and back is about 70 miles – so even the Epiq 40 will do that trip three times over before it needs a plug.

Škoda UK hasn't confirmed Sportline prices or order dates yet, but we'll know the moment they do. In the meantime the Epiq is already available to order from Ingram Škoda Ayr, with the SE L 55 from £27,700, and we have demonstrators on site so you can see how it fits your life before the Sportline lands.
Pop your details in and we'll give you a call as soon as Sportline ordering opens – no pressure, just first dibs.
